And for those without a nifty thesaurus, inebriated is a fancy word for "drugged".

I'm sort of thinking Glitter's epic fail friend skills are linked to her profession- she habitually tells ponies what they do wrong in order to help improve their lives and fix their relations, but hasn't quite found the balance between work and her social life. She doesn't want to pry too much into their business, but she can't bear to see anything "wrong" with them, and desperately tried to fix them, much to their expense.
